This week has been full of holiday activities and fun!  We also managed to complete our required work!

Reading:  We continued to work on reading biographies and retelling them in a correct, organized manner.

Writing:  We wrote another lab report.  The students selected their own experiments and generated the hypothesis, procedure, results and conclusion.

Math:  We have begun work on beginning addition regrouping.  The children should be able to explain WHY and when they need to regroup.

Social Studies:  Community types and characteristics have been completed.  After vacation, we will begin work on geography and map skills.

Just a reminder...there is NO FORMAL homework over vacation.  I do ask that you require your child to read for at least 15 minutes each day and practice their math facts using XTra Math.  Students who do these things will be rewarded with homework passes and higher scores on report card assessments.  Optional parent conferences will be held in early February.  If you would like a conference and haven't already signed up, please do so at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C094BACA622ABF58-optional

Thank you for sharing your children with me each day.  It is my pleasure to nurture and help them grow.  Have a safe and happy holiday break.  See you next year!
