HAPPY VETERANS DAY!
This week was all about America.  We participated in a mock election and read all about Election Day and the candidates using our periodical, Time For Kids,  We made cards for the veterans at the VA hospital.  We wrote informational articles about Veterans Day.  We practiced and did a PHENOMENAL job presenting the Veterans Day assembly.  The children worked hard to speak slowly, clearly and with poise in front of over 500 people.  I was so proud of all their efforts...they were too. Thank you for all your encouragement, kind words and support.

Next week:
No school on Monday
Reading--Continuing work on retelling informational texts using webs
Math--Repeated addition as a starting point for arrays and multiplication
Writing--Elaborating with details and using a variety of sentence starters
Stations--Continued work on independent skills

I will be continuing to assess student gains for report cards.  We have completed the timed fact tests, 1st and 2nd grade priority words, and the District Math assessment.  I still need to complete individual Reading assessments, individualized writing, and some 3rd grade priority words assessments.  I will be sending individual conference time reminders this week.  Thank you for all you do to help and support me.
